There are
four
major
components required to create a home cinema system:
A Screen
DVD or Blu-Ray
player
A Speaker package
An amplifier
Some of
these
components
can be purchased in a combined system such as a sound projector or a
one box cinema package. These are a great first step into home cinema
with the advantage of cheaper costs & smaller components, but they
carry a distinct disadvantage when it somes to upgrading to newer
components. Both sound projectors & one box systems are built
to tight tolerances & are usually connected in a non-standard
manner, this means to upgrade your system will mean scrapping the whole
system & starting from scratch.
For
the
ultimate
home
cinema
experience
we recommend buying a fully seperate system.
These will outperform combined systems by some margin, & as they
used standardised connections each component can be replaced
individually as & when the need occurs.
